The world consists of many different types of people that develop different ideologies. The political system has a great influence on how society is developed. Society has always made people develop ideas based on the political rules and regulations that greatly influences people’s lives. Thus, America is run under the impression that everyone one has the right to speak what they believe in (freedom of speech 1st Amendment). This signifies the value that each citizen has to make sure that their voices and beliefs are based on their own personal comfort. What makes America? Well to answer that question, America is mainly made of two groups of people who believe in Atheistic beliefs or the belief in a higher deity or energy/ power. This is what gets indoctrinated to the majority of Americans. The problem comes when there are multiple disagreements on how people’s lives should be measured or controlled. The system of the United States is constructed under the constitution which also expresses “all men are created equal”, implying that there are rules that are held responsible for people’s security. It is a matter of morality and justice that can be obtained by how America was built. One prior example can be dated back to the development of the Roman empire that used to govern with the motto, ‘eye for an eye’. What’s the significance you may ask, well this motto was used as a right to literally repay any injustice with the punishment for what they did. This illustrates the power that any government-held throughout making laws. So we see how crucial rules are in developing the way in which citizens ought to be ruled by.
The relatable issue that arises still throughout this day is the law of abortion. The topic of abortion holds it’s value on why people should have the right to abort their child. Unfortunately, there are disagreements on whether it should be acceptable to do. It clashes down to what beliefs and values you hold, so if I was to evaluate whether or not a person is most likely to agree with abortion, I would study the beliefs of that particular person. An atheistic person would be most likely to disagree with the statement of pro-choice than an Atheist. However, many people have their own beliefs within their cultural/ religious beliefs. Cultural norms are another expectation that is used on decision making. It makes the person decide what they believe solely based on the impact that a particular environment has on the individual. Since humans adapt to the environment they live in, they also adapt to the ideas and concepts that are introduced in that household. In continuation, the view of politics can easily be influenced by the cultural, social and religious aspects of family or peers. It vitaly impacts the way that opinion or idea can be formed based on the exposure of passed down traditions and doctination. This is what makes the person identify their personal opinions and ideas based on learned structures and ideologies within a group of influential people that are idolized.
Short Story
As far as the east from the west, a man’s quest to find comfort in the loss of his mother’s death to soften the pain of his restless heart continued. The silence of the wind gravited his heart,he couldn’t bear the loss of his loving mother. He remembered the soft whisper of his mother’s voice slowly make his memories of his childhood repeat. The way that he heard his mom speak about the loveliness of nature. He remembers her exact words, “Even the stars in the sky can’t count the goodness of God”. He couldn’t forget those words, in fact it was the words that stuck an infinite closeness to his mom. As the mirror stares back at him; he realizes the tiredness in his eyes. Not knowing the endless tears he had cried, however he knew he had some type of hope. His grandmother looks and stares at him, with a painful smirk she says, “I see the way you mourn but the grieving process is over”. It made him wonder if his emotions where in fact “too much” or if she was heartless. As the years go by, he is seen walking through a crowded road of people, he hears arguing, madness, and sorrow… it begins to spark range within a lot. He sees how a priest is being argued against, “you don’t control us” one guy said. He didn’t know the reason, but he soon figured the protest of the town. The indoctrination of the Catholic church revolves around the views of the Pope, which made the town folks affected by decisions proposed by the church’s decision. The man remembered the nobility that his mother had towards the church, being raised in a religious home he was curious of the path he would eventually choose. It was a pounding question of whether or not his mother would approve of his rebellion (if decided) of the Catholic church. He sensed that his mother was watching upon him, so he didn’t ever want to disappoint him.
The short story is an illustration of a young man that’s being pulled into the reality of society. It shows the opinions of different views that ended up resulting in a protest. The context of the story starts with a grieving boy missing his mom. It expands into him reflecting upon his own mother’s views, he notices certain memories with his mom supporting the religious views of the Catholic church, making him question if he should continue the path that his mother had followed. As simple as the short story might be, one must understand the domino effect of beliefs and decisions. Psychologically a person is most likely to respond positively to a situation that is presented them at an early age. There should be not battle between what makes something wrong or right, only if it interferes with the harm of moralities touch in an organized justice system. This is where the controversial topic of abortion can reprersent the division of people.
